Floors

 

Vinyl Tile or Sheet Goods

Pressure Setting: Low-Med

Accessories: Large brush + towel, extension tubes, nozzle w/ nylon nozzle brush, small rectangle brush

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Sweep or vacuum first
  2. Mop w/ large brush, corners and baseboards w/nozzle brush or large nozzle brush; do so by sections, using continuous motion, heavily soiled areas use small rectangle brush, no towel.

 

 

Quarry Tile, Slate, Ceramic Tile & Grout

Pressure Setting: Med

Accessories: Large brush + towel on front clips only, nozzle w/ nylon nozzle brush, rectangle brush w/ towel

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Sweep or vacuum first
  2. Mop w/ large brush
  3. Flip towel under brush to finish wipe
  4. Use nozzle brush on grout lines and wipe away loosened dirt.

 

 

Hardwood

 

Pressure Setting: Low

Accessories: Large brush + towel, extension tubes

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Fix towel to large brush
  2. Heat with steam “on”
  3. Reduce or turn steam off and mop floor
  4. Repeat as towel cools.
  5. Towel should be hot and moist, not wet.

 

 

Smooth Concrete

 

Pressure Setting: Med-High

Accessories: Large brush + towel on front clips only, small rectangle brush

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Sweep or vacuum first
  2. Mop w/ large brush
  3. Flip towel under brush to finish wipe; use nozzle brush or small rectangle brush for heavily soiled areas.

 

 

Wax Removal

 

Pressure Setting: Med-High

Accessories: Small rectangle brush, extension tubes

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Treat by section w/ small rectangle brush, no towel.
  2. Do twice, DO NOT OVERHEAT!

 

 

 

Carpet

Carpet Surfaces

Pressure Setting: Med

Accessories: Large brush + towel, extension tubes

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Vacuum and then PRE-STEAM w/ small rectangle brush or large brush a 6′ x 6′ area at 6″ above the surface.
  2. Attach towel to large brush and wipe in two directions – the second direction at right angles to the first.
  3. Stubborn areas may be pre-treated with a light application of gentle detergent, followed with steam treatment.

 

 

Spot Cleaning

Pressure Setting: Med-High ;

Accessories: Nozzle or Steam gun;

Hints & Techniques:

  1. When using nozzle or steam gun on spots, stay 4″ – 6″ from carpet surface.
  2. Blot spot w/towel
  3. Repeat as necessary. DO NOT OVERHEAT!

 

 

 

Walls & Ceilings

Painted, Paneling, Wallpaper

 

Pressure Setting: Low

Accessories: Small rectangle brush or large brush with towel, extension tubes

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Painted walls, wallpaper, wood paneling are heat sensitive, so always use 2, preferably 3 layers of towel on brushes when treating these surfaces.
  2. Do not dwell on any one area too long – treat once, allow to cool and retreat.
  3. On heavily soiled areas, pre-steam w/ nozzle 6″ from surface and then use brush w/towel.
  4. Towel surface may be pre-treated w/ gentle detergent mist to help loosen soil.
  5. On wood paneling move quickly, check towel surface for color transfer.
  6. WALLPAPER REMOVAL – use nozzle on seams, wallpaper stripper on large areas.
  7. Use small rectangle brush w/ towel to remove residual paste.

Pressure Setting: Low

Accessories: Small rectangle brush or large brush with towel, extension tubes

Hints & Techniques:

Accessories: Small rectangle brush w/ towel

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Test in inconspicuous location prior to treatment.
  2. Some velours are very heat sensitive and may deform.
  3. Pre-steam area with steam gun at 6″ from surface.
  4. Use small rectangle brush w/ towel over surface, working in two directions.
  5. Towel should be hot & moist, not wet.
  6. Use nozzle on seam lines at 2″ from surface, wipe away dirt with towel.
  7. Condition leathers after treating.

 

 

 

Blinds

Venetian type – Horizontal

 

Pressure Setting: Low-Med

Accessories: Threaded nozzle, extension tube, extended nozzle

 

Venetian Type – Vertical

Pressure Setting: Low-Med

Accessories: Small rectangle brush w/ towel, large brush w/ towel

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Light dust – open blind 1/2 way & use nozzle on medium – high from 4″ away. Caution – Thin plastic blinds may be deformed by too much heat. Use care.
  2. Heavy or greasy dust – shut blind, mist w/ mild detergent, use nozzle at 4″ from surface, wipe immediately w/ towel.
  3. Vertical vinyl – small rectangle brush w/ towel on one side and large brush w/ towel on opposite side – top to base, switch sides

 

 

 

Glass

Windows, Mirrors, Window Screens

 

Pressure Setting: Med

Accessories: Window cleaning tool, small rectangle brush w/ towel, extension tube

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Pre-steam glass w/ steam gun at 6″ from surface or use small rectangle brush w/ towel over entire surface for the first cleaning.
  2. Follow up with window tool.
  3. Wipe squeegee blade often.
  4. Avoid cracked mirrors or windows. Use small rectangle brush w/ towel on screens.

 

 

Window Frames

Hints &Techniques:

  1. Use threaded nozzle + brush to renew frame area, latches etc.

  1. Use nozzle to reach into tight areas, use with nozzle brush where needed.

Hints & Techniques:

  1. Use small rectangle brush direct and wipe with towel.
  2. Use threaded nozzle w/ brush on moldings, wipe with towel.
  3. CABINET FACING: pre-steam w/ nozzle from a distance of 6″, let stand a moment, then wipe with towel.
  4. Repeat if necessary.
